Community Service Engagement (CSE)

Serving is foundational to all programs at The Jack Brewer Foundation. Serving is a requirement for completion of our Heroes 2nd Chance Fatherhood program, which includes regular participation in “Serving Saturdays”, “Souls of your Feet”, “Toys from your Father” and our Heroes Mentorship Program. Our Heroes Sports Academy participants are also required to remain actively engaged with all Jack Brewer Foundation community service initiatives.

The Heroes Fatherhood Initiative actively serves food to over 500 families throughout the week at our Broward County based food distribution center as well as during our weekly “Serving Saturdays”. Our organization partners with nonprofits, corporations and churches to help source much needed food for local families. Our post release 2nd Chance Fatherhood participants help lead the food distribution each week. Many of the households that we support with food aid happen to be fatherless.

Our “Souls of your Feet” clothing and shoe project give incarcerated fathers and fatherless youth the opportunity to find dignity by receiving much needed new shoes and clothing. Our Palm Beach County based distribution center stores thousands of pairs of shoes and clothing each year that serves criminal justice involved fathers, their families and communities. This includes new clothing and shoes for fathers upon release from prison and jail, as well as clothing distributions to homeless and needy individuals in and around the communities we serve.

Our “Toys from your Father” project is an active family unification activity which helps build bonds between incarcerated fathers and their children and families. Each week, toys, books and other gifts are distributed to children of fathers who participate in the Heroes Fatherhood Initiative Parenting programs. Fathers are also given the opportunity to virtually read books to their kids and participate in their homework and educational training through our secured technology. Feedback and data is gathered to help the program improve its outcomes.
